Golf Buggies Galore From Leeds Golf Cars
Flaxby Park Golf & Country Club was officially opened on 1st July and is located adjacent to junction 57 of the A1(M) between Harrogate and York. Designed by leading golf architect David Hemstock, the par 72, 18-hole course features over 18,000 newly planted trees and eight lakes. Alan Armstrong, a partner in the development which will eventually feature a 200 bedroom hotel, a 9-hole Academy course and driving range said, Meanwhile, at Leeds Golf Centre, Wike Ridge managing director Rob Bailey has taken delivery of a fleet of 22 E-Z-GO golf cars and two ST350 utility vehicles. "We’ve gone down the contract hire route with Leeds Golf Car,” he said, “We have an inclusive service agreement, so I know exactly what each buggy costs per month. The buggies and the greenkeeping vehicles are not only good at what they do, but they are also soft on the ground, which is good for the course. Seven years ago we introduced 6 buggies and this latest fleet is a testament to their popularity.” Leeds Golf Centre includes Wike Ridge, an 18-hole Donald Steel designed par 71 course; the Oaks, a 12-hole par 3 course; a 20-bay floodlit driving range and a teaching academy. It has a very strong junior section with over 150 members. |
